Jennifer began coaching writers over twenty years ago as a writing consultant at WMU's Writing Center. She's been working to understand the book retail space and what makes a bestseller since her first high school job as a bookseller at B Dalton. After earning a degree in English Literature from WMU in 2003, Jennifer held various roles in publishing, including editor for literary magazines and regional publications, before founding Scribe Publishing Company, a traditional small press, in 2011. Jennifer is passionate about independent publishing and committed to helping authors amplify their voices. She is active in the Midwest Independent Publishers Association and has held leadership roles in the organization since 2015.
